Participating in judicial exchanges
Judicial exchanges with other courts around the world provide unique opportunities to exchange views and experiences, allowing judges to share best practices and discuss topics of mutual interest. The law is dynamic and always evolving. Judicial exchanges give courts the opportunity to navigate similar legal issues.
Contributing to international judicial organizations
The Supreme Court of Canada is a proud member of international judicial organizations such as:
- Association of Francophone Constitutional Courts
- Association des Hautes Juridictions de Cassation des pays ayant en partage l’usage du français
- International Association of Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions

Welcoming international delegations and visitors
Meetings with foreign delegations and visitors such as chief justices and other members of the international legal community provide important opportunities to discuss a broad range of matters. Topics of discussion often include court modernization, judicial education, openness and transparency and the Rule of Law. In addition to sharing best practices at the Supreme Court of Canada, our judges and Court employees also appreciate learning about how other courts around the world are addressing emerging legal issues.
