Request to use Court photographs, webcasts or recordings

Information

Request permission to use a photograph found on the Supreme Court of Canada’s website, a webcast or a recording of a hearing of the Court, by filling out this form.

Conditions for use

Court photographs, webcasts and recordings can be used for commercial purposes with certain restrictions. For example, official photographs, webcasts or recordings of the Court cannot be used in dramatic productions or fictional films.

If we approve your request, we will send you a letter explaining the conditions for the use of the photograph or video.

Fees

If you request a recording in DVD format or a printed copy of a photograph, a fee of $35 may apply, as set out in Schedule A to the Rules of the Supreme Court of Canada. Once we have received and approved your request, we will send you payment instructions. We will only send you the photograph, webcast or audio/video recording you have requested once we have received your payment. Fees can be paid by:

Cheques or money orders must be made payable to the “Receiver General for Canada” and sent with the acknowledgment of receipt confirming your request to the address below:
